Juan Carlos Villar is focused on commercial litigation, mediation, domestic and international arbitration, conflicts regarding private and public constructions, conflicts in corporate matters, negotiation of international agreements. Member of the International Chamber of Commerce, ICC Institute of World Business Law, and member of the Young ITA (Institute for Transnational Arbitration at the Center for American and International Law). Currently, he is President of the Young Arbitrators Committee, Bajío Chapter, of the International Chamber of Commerce, ICC Mexico.
He obtained his Law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro having met the criteria to obtain this degree based on the grade point average option. Likewise, he studied the Specialization course in Constitutional Law and Amparo and the Master’s Degree in Public Administration at the same University. He has completed various courses, seminars and diplomas, including the Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration taught by the International Chamber of Commerce and the Universidad Anáhuac. Mr. Villar provides legal advice to international companies in relation to their investments in Mexico. Currently, he is the legal representative and consultant in Mexico of several companies belonging to the Samsung Group, the Mitsubishi Group, among others.
He has been the author and co-author of articles, publications and magazines, as well as a speaker on Commercial and Arbitration matters, in conferences, interviews, business forums and radio programs, as well as in different universities in the country, including his recent participation as an Arbitrator in the Interuniversity Competition of Commercial and Investment Arbitration, UP-ICC México Moot 2020, organized by the Law School of the Universidad Panamericana and the International Chamber of Commerce México (ICC México). Currently, he is a Partner at Villar & Villar Abogados, S.C., and a member of the Board of Directors of different Companies and Associations.
